Brown's Office of Institutional Equity and Diversity is responsible for monitoring progress of Brown University’s Diversity and Inclusion Action Plan (DIAP) and departmental plans (DDIAPs). The DIAP establishes a concrete set of actions articulating how Brown will develop best practices and serve as a leader in promoting more just, diverse and inclusive communities. 

OIED facilitates the development of a DIAP Annual Report and supports the Equity and Diversity Oversight Board and the President’s Advisory Council on Diversity. The DIAP establishes two mechanisms for measuring and ensuring progress for the university wide and departmental action plans.
