Administrative action plans establish goals and objectives aligned with the function of individual administrative units at Brown, including reflecting diversity and inclusion in operations, hiring, mentoring and professional development, and improving departmental climates through inclusive activities and practices.

All Brown administrative departments have been charged with developing an approved Departmental Diversity and Inclusion Action Plan (DDIAP) aligned with the University's concrete set of actions that can facilitate Brown's vision of sustaining a campus environment where all members can fulfill their potential as scholars and leaders.

Requiring the DDIAPs was a specific action step of Pathways to Diversity and Inclusion: An Action Plan for Brown University, commonly known as the Diversity and Inclusion Action Plan (DIAP).
