The Office of Institutional Equity and Diversity is charged with overseeing compliance with federal law and University policies and procedures in the area of gender-based harassment and violence.
Brown University cannot fulfill its mission of education, research and service unless it provides a safe campus environment for all of its members. A fundamental component of safety is protection against sexual harassment and sexual violence. Sexual violence is not tolerated at Brown, and the University is committed to addressing it in the context of all forms of sexual harassment and misconduct.
Brown is dedicated to putting in place the strongest possible prevention programs, supports for complainants, and procedures for handling cases of sexual assault when they occur, as well as resources that reflect sensitivity to and awareness of the diversity of our student population. Our goal is to become a national leader in this area.
