Ricky Gresh, Director for Campus Life Projects

Ricky provides leadership for divisional projects; co-coordinates the First Generation College Student Initiative with Assistant Dean Yolanda Rome, supervises the office of Student Veterans and Commissioning Programs, and serves as a liaison to Institutional Diversity, the Office of the Dean of the College and the Graduate School. Prior to his current position, Ricky served as the Senior Director for Student Engagement at Brown.

Ricky began his career at Brown in 2004 as the Director of Student Activities.  His responsibilities included chairing the committee to renovate the historical Faunce House to create the Stephen Robert '62 Campus Center.  In 2006, he received a University Excellence Award.

Prior to arriving at Brown, Ricky worked at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) for eight years in a variety of positions in student life.  While at MIT he founded and directed MIT’s Lesbian, Bisexual, Gay, and Transgender (lbgt@MIT) program, served on the Campus Committee on Race Relations, and successfully facilitated a proposal to expand MIT’s nondiscrimination policy to include gender identity.

Ricky received his M.Ed. in administration, planning, and social policy at Harvard’s Graduate School of Education and his B.A. in folkore & folklife and elementary education from the University of Pennsylvania.
