Applying for Financial Aid for the 2014-2015 Academic Year? Read on for details about the process.
U.S. Citizens, Permanent Residents, and Canadian undergraduates must reapply for financial aid each year. The deadline for continuing students to submit their financial aid application for the 2014-15 academic year is May 1, 2014.
In January 2014, students in the Classes of ‘15, ‘16, and ‘17 who received financial aid in 2013-14 will receive an email reminder from the Office of Financial Aid (OFA) with a link to the OFA website for financial aid deadlines and application requirements for the 2014-15 academic year. In February 2014, the College Board will email students with instructions regarding the Institutional Documentation Service (IDOC) portion of the re-application process. In addition, a post card reminder will be sent to students’ home address in late March to remind parent(s) of the financial aid reapplication deadline of May 1st.
Students who submit their financial aid applications by the May 1st deadline will receive their financial aid awards prior to the Fall Semester bill (mid to late June 2014).
If you are an international student or a Resumed Undergraduate Education student, please visit the OFA website for details about your respective cohort in terms of financial aid for 2014-15.

To be considered for financial aid, medical students must also re-apply each year. The Alpert Medical School (AMS) Office of Financial Aid will send a series of email reminders to all medical students, starting the first week in February 2014. At that time, students will be reminded to visit the AMS Financial Aid Office website for detailed instructions and requirements, as well as the links to required forms and applications. Students with completed aid applications on April 1st will receive award notifications in early May.
To be considered for AMS scholarship and AMS loan funding, students must complete the Need Access Form. This application requires parental income and asset information as well as the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). In addition, students are asked to complete the Alpert Medical School Financial Aid Application and provide a copy of their 2013 federal income tax return. Federal income taxes for 2013 from the MD students’ parents are requested as well. Since the deadline to submit all required forms (including 2013 federal tax returns) is prior to the IRS filing deadline, it is important for students to discuss the timing of this process with their parent(s) well in advance of the deadlines.
