Classrooms and Courses
Classroom assignments are made based on a number of factors including course enrollment (actual and projected based on historical trends), physical attributes of spaces in relation to instructional requests and availability based on total number of offerings in a given time slot.
Year-long courses require students to complete both semesters of the course in order to receive credit for each semester. Some departments will consider petitions from students to receive credit for the first semester of the course without completing the second semester.
Course Offering Resources include the Departmental Secondary Cross Listings form and other resources such as closed meeting times & limited space availability.
To submit a proposal for a new undergraduate or graduate level course or to modify a course which already exists in Banner, please use the Brown Curriculum Management tool.
The Directed Course Searches in Courses@brown.edu documentation provides the format needed to create links which can be entered on your department web site or faculty personal sites.
