“A Collage: The Multiple Roles of the Arts in Foreign Language Acquisition” Thursday, November 14th 4:00-5:30pm Sheridan Center (96 Waterman) The arts touch upon every aspect of human life. In this workshop led by Senior Lecturer in Portuguese & Brazilian Studies Patricia Sobral, participants will learn about various ways of integrating the digital, visual, literary and performing arts into the foreign language classroom. Particular attention will be paid to the notion of creation as a means of inspiring students (as artistic creators) in the target language and a culminating event to honor and celebrate student work. This workshop is part of the Workshop Series on Foreign Language Teaching, sponsored by the Sheridan Center for Teaching & Learning and the Center for Language Studies. The series is designed to bring graduate student instructors, teaching associates and faculty together to explore various aspects of foreign language pedagogy.
