Sheridan Center for Teaching & Learning
Tuesday, November 12th 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. Sheridan Center 96 Waterman St. This interactive workshop for faculty and graduate students will explore the use of online peer grading, one of the most misunderstood aspects of effective pedagogy in the online environment. Case studies are drawn from Brown's massive open online courses (MOOCs) but are also applicable to best practices in online teaching. Participants will discuss several strategies for eliciting productive feedback from students and will work collaboratively to develop assessment criteria that promote student learning through the peer grading process. Bring a brown-bag lunch if you would like. RSVP at sheridan.brown.edu. to reserve a place at this workshop. Please register even if the event is fully subscribed, as spaces may open later due to cancellations.
