There is an opening for a staff member on the Brown University Public Safety Oversight Committee (PSOC). The PSOC was established to serve in an advisory capacity to the Executive Vice President for Planning & Policy and the Chief of Police for the purpose of reviewing the practices, policies and procedures of the Department of Public Safety, and making policy recommendations where appropriate. Meetings are twice per semester.
On Friday, August 26, 2016, staff from all over the university crowded into the Faculty Club to dive into deep discussion on the First Readings selection, "My Beloved World", a memoir by Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor. Over 100 staff participated in the Brown Staff Summer Reading Program, a pilot program sponsored through the Office of the Provost and President's Staff Advisory Council (SAC).
