Responsible Employees are required to share all known details of incidents or suspected incidents of sexual and gender-based harm or discrimination with the Title IX Program Officer. Brown defines responsible employees as students, staff, and faculty in leadership or supervisory positions that have significant responsibility for the welfare of Students or Employees.
Responsible Employees assist the Title IX Office in connecting students, staff, and faculty who have been impacted by sexual and gender-based violence and harassment with a list of comprehensive and accurate reporting options and resources. This helps individuals make an informed choice about how to move forward. They also help the University identify and respond to systemic patterns and trends with the goal of making the campus a more equitable and inclusive environment.
