Dear Brown Parents and Families,
As the impact of novel coronavirus continues to escalate, we know this is a tremendously challenging time for families - both for your students at Brown and for all of you as well. Our foremost concern is the health and well-being of our entire University community, and we continue to follow the guidance of medical experts on and beyond campus.
In recent days, we have communicated important information and offered support to students in a series of community notifications. We know you received President Paxson's message to the community yesterday. Below you will find the subsequent message we sent to students yesterday evening about support for the transition to remote learning. In addition, all students living on-campus received a detailed communication from Residential Life with guidance and support on the process of moving out of campus housing. We are working hard to support all students as they navigate this unexpected transition.
We write today to share this information about support and to enlist your assistance with your student's transition away from campus. Given the rapidly evolving public health emergency, we are urging all students who can travel home to do so as soon as possible - before the deadline, March 22 at 5 p.m. As you know, travel is becoming more complicated. Restrictions are increasing, and our hope is that all students can relocate quickly to continue their semester remotely.
