Staff Spotlight: Peter Mello

Describe briefly what you do and how long have you been at Brown.
I am the Administrative & Financial Coordinator for the Office of Counseling and Psychological Services ( CAPS). I have been at Brown almost 22 years. I have been at my current position here at CAPS for 1 year now. Formally from CIS.

What professional accomplishment are you most proud of?
In my former job at Brown we prepared the South Street Landing building to open and spent the prior weekend getting all the connections and clients computers set up before they came into work on Monday- it was a lot of work and we had very few glitches upon opening surprisingly!! It was a major accomplishment for myself and my colleagues.

Name something about you most people don't know.
I am a collector of Betty Crocker cookbooks and have over 200 different ones from the 40's all the way to current day and yes, I do use them and cook and bake from!  The older ones have some great old recipes in them as well as some very interesting advice for "housewives". I'm wearing my pearls and baking a cake as I write this!!

If you weren't doing this job, what would you be doing?
My original dream was to play my Bass Clarinet in an orchestra and that was all I wanted to do . Unfortunately It didn't work out that way for me and I took a different path.
