Dear Colleagues,
I am so pleased to announce that Natalia Román Alicea joins the Global Brown Center for International Students as our new Program Coordinator.
Natalia Román Alicea joins us from Wesleyan University where she served as the Assistant Director of Intercultural and Language Learning at the Fries Center for Global Studies. During her year at Wesleyan, Natalia created, implemented, and assessed several programs, including International Education Week. Additionally, Natalia developed and taught intercultural communication courses as part of the Global Engagement Minor at Wesleyan University. Natalia has experience working with student leaders, supporting students from different social identities, and implementing International Orientation.
Prior to her time at Wesleyan, Natalia graduated from the University of Illinois with a master’s in communication, where she taught undergraduate courses in intercultural communication, public speaking, and communication theory.
Finally, Natalia joins the Global Brown Center with international experience of her own - including a Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship in Colombia and various study abroad opportunities in Europe. Natalia is originally from Bayamón, Puerto Rico and through both personal and professional experiences, she is driven to work with international and marginalized communities.
