We are pleased to announce the appointment of Lisa Middleton to the newly created position of Director of Human Resources for the Division of Campus Life. In her new role, Lisa will serve as a central point of contact for operational and business processes related to human resources and as a resource to problem solve and offer guidance to managers in the division. She will work with hiring managers to cultivate the division’s ability to recruit and retain employees through best practices, competitive compensation, talent development, and a deeply shared commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion. Lisa began on August 30th and we will be scheduling meetings for Lisa to connect with directors and managers soon.
Lisa comes to Brown after serving 16 years with the State of Rhode Island Division of Human Resources, most recently as a Deputy Personnel Administrator. During her tenure in State government, Lisa led statewide operations and initiatives relating to job classification and compensation, employment testing, organizational design and development, performance development, and HR-related Lean and digital modernization efforts. She also led a team of HR Business Partners who provided assistance and guidance to numerous public-sector departments. She holds a B.A. in Psychology and Gender & Women’s Studies, and an M.A. in Psychology from Rhode Island College.
