About Us

Brown University's Women's Leadership Council (WLC) was established in 2004 by President Ruth J. Simmons with foresight and guidance provided by founding member and Chair Emerita Susan Pilch Friedman '77, P'08.

The Council consists of a group of Brown women selected by the President who, through their leadership, volunteerism and philanthropy, work toward enhancing Brown by inspiring and engaging the alumnae community as active participants in the life of the University.
