Parking on Main Campus
In addition to the streets around the Brown campus, you may park your car in any of the University lots anytime beginning 5 PM Friday through the weekend. The Power Street lot (both lower and upper levels) at the corner of Power and Thayer streets is the largest lot on campus. The top level is entered on Power Street and the bottom level is entered on the corner of Williams and Brook streets. A map of all Brown parking lots is available online.
Hope High School (324 Hope St.) will be available on Sunday, May 28 from 7 AM to 4 PM. Parking is provided at the sole risk of the owner of the vehicle and Brown will not be responsible or liable for any loss or damage to the vehicle (including, but not limited to, accessories, or contents) parked in the lots as a result of theft, fire, collision, vandalism, acts of nature or any other cause.
Thayer District Public Parking Lot (corner of Brook and Cushing Streets; entrance on Cushing Street) is also available for daily and overnight parking (for a fee). Operating Hours are: Friday, May 26: 8:00 am – 1:00 am; Saturday, May 27: 7:00 am – 1:00 am; Sunday, May 28: 7:00 am – 10:00 pm.
Please note, due to very high traffic volume and street closures, parking is challenging during Commencement weekend and we ask that you plan accordingly when arriving for events and activities.
Please remember to lock your car, whether it is on the street or in a lot. Do observe city parking laws; any cars parked in a temporary emergency no parking tow zone, in marked handicapped spaces without a placard, in violation of a fire hydrant, blocking driveways, or obstructing Brown Police or Providence Police sawhorses will be ticketed or towed at owner’s expense. There is no parking on any Providence city street from 1 a.m. - 5 a.m.

Drop Off Passes
On Commencement day, the majority of streets near the College Green are closed due to the procession and line up. Drop off passes allow individuals to drop guests off near the College Green on Commencement Day. Drivers then park their vehicle on campus or in the local area. This pass does not provide any reserved parking for the holder. Drop Off Passes are only recommended for individuals who will be transporting guests with mobility concerns who are able to navigate the campus themselves.
To utlize this service, please download our2017 Drop Off Pass and place it on the dashboard of the vehicle wishing to drop guests off so that police officers can direct the car into the drop off queue.
If you are unable to print a pass, please contact the Transportation Office at 401-863-3157 prior to May 1, 2017 and one will be mailed to you. Passes will also be available at the Welcome Desk in the Stephen Robert '62 Campus Center on Commencement & Reunion Weekend (May 26-28, 2017).
