In addition, the Undergraduate Handbook is intended to provide students and faculty with an overview of the undergraduate program in Applied Mathematics at Brown University, and to answer commonly  raised questions. Applied Mathematics is an interdisciplinary subject involving both  mathematics and many areas of application. More so than in many other areas it is important to have an overview of the subject and how it relates to other programs at Brown.
