Petra Great Temple, Volume III Now Available
We are completely delighted to announce that Martha Sharp Joukowsky's book, Petra Great Temple, Volume III: Brown University Excavations 1993–2008, Architecture and Material Culture, is now available from Oxbow Books and Casemate Academic.

JIAAW Awarded Cultural Heritage Fellowship
The Cogut Center for the Humanities has awarded JIAAW and the Haffenreffer Museum funding for a Postdoctoral Fellowship in Critical Cultural Heritage, beginning in July 2017.

JIAAW Contributes Two Articles to SAA's Journal
November's special issue of Advances in Archaeological Practice on public education programs in archaeology includes articles co-authored by JIAAW's Sarah Sharpe and Miriam Rothenberg, and by JIAAW's Jen Thum.

Thum Presents at "Research Matters"
JIAAW doctoral candidate Jen Thum was one of ten Brown University graduate students chosen from over 60 nominees to "explain why your research matters to a general audience -- in five minutes". A video of her talk, "Rocks, Drones and Instagram: The Interactive Dissertation," is now online.

Grant from Cogut Center Supports Heritage Series
JIAAW was awarded a Andrew W. Mellon "Brown in the World" grant to support a visit by Professor Neil Brodie (Oxford). This visit is part of the Combating Crisis series, organized by JIAAW doctoral candidates Kathryn McBride and Emily Booker.

Joukowsky Family Professor of Archaeology and Professor of Modern Greek Studies Yannis Hamilakis, and Postdoctoral Fellows Katherine Brunson and Sophie Moore have now joined the faculty of the Joukowsky Institute.
