Research Interests : African Architecture and Urbanism, Public Humanities in the African context
Yannick Etoundi received a Bachelor in International Studies and Modern Languages from the University of Ottawa (2013) followed by a Bachelor of Architecture (2016) and a Master of Architecture (2018) from the Université Libre de Bruxelles. After receiving his M.Arch, Yannick worked in the private sector for two years, working on architectural projects throughout Yukon, Canada.
At Brown, his research interests focus on the Architecture and Urbanism of Africa and in particular, port cities of the Atlantic and Indian Ocean. Yannick is also engaged in questions regarding the restitution of African cultural heritage, the decolonization of public institutions and the memorialization of slavery.
