How to Apply
Students entering the MCB Program will usually have at least two years of college chemistry and one year each of calculus and physics, in addition to college courses in biology (cell biology, genetics, molecular biology, developmental biology, and/or biochemistry). Students who are admitted without sufficient background in these topics will be encouraged to take appropriate coursework at Brown before enrolling in advanced courses in the respective area.
Students wishing to pursue graduate work in MCB must complete a Brown University application.
Results from a recent Graduate Record Examination (within three years) are required. A GRE Subject Test in biology, biochemistry, or chemistry is recommended. October is the latest examination date to allow for results to be available in January.
International students must submit scores on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) unless they have completed their undergraduate studies in the United States.
