Resident observes specimen on a small screenThe Pathology Residency and Fellowship Programs at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University are designed to help the graduate physician to acquire a broad knowledge of anatomic pathology and laboratory medicine, learn the techniques and methodologies required for continued professional growth; and cultivate and fortify teaching skills, research acumen, and critical thinking habits.

Throughout the programs, emphasis is placed on developing skills to obtain critical information from Resident observes specimen projected on large screenanatomic and clinical pathology specimens and act as expert consulting physicians in an integrated health care delivery team. The pathobiology of human disease is also emphasized to provide residents and fellows with the basis to understand and advance our knowledge of human disease throughout their careers.
