Leiomyosarcoma

Uterine leiomyosarcoma in a 56 year old woman. Highly cellular, high mitotic index, abnormal mitotic figures, blood vessel invasion. 

Tumor cell necrosis, the most important parameter of malignancy.

A tongue of invasive leiomyosarcoma in the surrounding myometrium. Metastases to the lung were present.
