Bartholin cyst
This 76 year old woman presented with a large Bartholin cyst. Such a cyst arises usually from blockage of the Bartholin's duct with accumulation of fluid over time. Treatment is drainage and marsupialization, leaving the cyst open so that re-accumulation does not occur. The cyst is benign and symptomatology is usually discomfort due to size. If the cyst becomes infected, a Bartholin's abscess can form and require surgery and antibiotic treatment.
