Applicants are expected to have made a primary commitment to careers in pathology and laboratory medicine, although individuals who desire abbreviated pathology experience as part of a well conceived personal program leading to a career of medical service are considered. Applicants are expected to meet high standards of intellectual and professional capability and also fulfill the following requirements:

Applicants must have graduated from an accredited US or Canadian medical school or a hold a valid ECFMG certificate at the time of entry into the program.

All applications must be made through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS).

US Medical Graduates

US medical graduates must submit an application through the Electronic Residency Application Service which includes:

  • USMLE Step 1 or COMLEX Level 1 score
  • Medical school transcript
  • Dean's letter
  • Personal statement of about one page.

Applications should be received before December 1 of the year prior to proposed entry into the program.

International Medical Graduates

International medical graduates must submit an application through the Electronic Residency Application Service which includes:

  • USMLE Step 1 and Step 2 scores
  • Occupational English Test (OET) for Medicine
  • ECFMG certificate
  • Letters of recommendation
  • One-page personal statement.

Applications should be received before December 1 of the year prior to proposed entry into the program.

Applicants who wish to enter the Program after the first postgraduate year must have completed appropriate training in US or Canadian hospitals and submit a complete Universal Residency Application with letter of recommendation from their current residency program director and a letter explaining their reason for changing programs.
