Request for Proposals: Faculty Development Modules

Do you have expertise on a professional development topic? Are you interested in sharing your knowledge with others at Alpert Medical School? Stipends will be offered to faculty interested in developing and delivering workshops for their peers.

This is a wonderful opportunity to strengthen your portfolio as an educator, curriculum developer, and presenter, and to get real-time feedback on your facilitation skills as part of the development process!

We are looking for proposals in the following professional development areas:

Teaching & Learning
Proposed sessions might include: mentoring & advising; clinical teaching; using technology in teaching; small group facilitation; evaluation & feedback; teaching the challenging learner; presentation & lecturing skills; inclusive teaching; other

Faculty Wellness
Proposed sessions might include: resolving conflict; time management; combating burnout; mindfulness and medicine; setting professional goals; other

Career Development
Proposed sessions might include: CV development; surviving the promotions process; interviewing skills; management skills; other

Scholarship & Research
Proposed sessions might include: turning ideas into scholarship; identifying appropriate journals; poster design; academic writing; other

Leadership
Proposed sessions might include: facilitating teamwork; negotiation skills; managing personnel; managing change; other

Diversity & Inclusion
Proposed sessions might include: educating learners with disabilities; culturally sensitive patient care; creating inclusive spaces; race and medicine; other
 

Proposal Submission

Proposals must be submitted by June 20, 2022.

Timeline and Process

All proposals will undergo committee review and faculty will be notified about accepted proposals in July 2022. 

A stipend will be provided to support the full development and revision of accepted modules, and the inaugural delivery of the modules in fall 2022 (exact stipend amounts will be determined by University regulations). The development process will include at least one dry-run presentation of the module with feedback provided. The Program in Educational Faculty Development retains ownership of all related materials developed as part of this process.
