Summary
The Brown Respiratory Research Training Program has the objective of training physicians and scientists who will become independent investigators in the pathology of respiratory diseases and in the health services outcomes, and epidemiology of these diseases. The program is funded by the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute starting in February of 2017. PhD graduate students and postdoctoral candidates with an MD, PhD or MD/PhD degree are accepted into a two year training program, with the aim of bridging the gaps between biomedical, behavioral and public health disciplines to advance the understanding of respiratory disease. This is accomplished through the collaboration between 11 academic departments, 3 Brown teaching hospitals and the Brown School of Public Health.
