NSF Fellowship Recipient: Layra Cintrón-Rivera

Congratulations to third-year Patho student Layra Cintrón-Rivera who was awarded an NSF Fellowship for her dissertation research entitled: "Elucidating novel roles for Sox9b in pharyngeal arch artery (PAA) development".  The National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship Program recognizes and supports outstanding graduate students in NSF-supported science, technology, engineering, and mathematics disciplines who are pursuing research-based Master's and doctoral degrees at accredited United States institutions.  Layra successfully passed her preliminary qualifying examination in May, and is mentored by Jessica Plavicki.  Congrats!
