Alan L. Boegehold Honored at the American School of Classical Studies at Athens

Last Fall, The American School of Classical Studies at Athens (ASCSA) paid homage to the late Alan Boegehold (1927-2015) with a room named in his honor.  Thanks to several generous donations, the School’s newly renovated Student Center now includes the Alan L. Bogehold Room, located on the floor of the Annex.

Alan Boegehold was a Professor of Classics at Brown from 1960-2001, intermittently serving as the Department of Classics' Chairman (1966 and 1974) and Director of Ancient Studies (1985–1991). In the words of the ASCSA, Alan is remembered as an “esteemed scholar [who] made immeasurable contributions to the American School and the field of Classics.” A heartfelt story about Dr. Boegehold, and the new Student Center, can be found on the ASCSA website.
