Uriel Cohen Priva

Uriel Cohen Priva received his Ph.D. from Stanford University in 2012 before coming to Brown in 2012, where he is now an Associate Professor. Cohen Priva's research is focused in linguistics and how the interactions between physiological, cognitive, communicative and social pressures shape human language. In particular, he studies how perceptual and articulatory pressures interact with the amount of information linguistic units carry. He has been funded by the National Science Foundation and his work has been discussed in The London Times and The Academic Minute.
