Scientific Visualization in the Service of Historic Preservation: Surveying Traditional Small-Craft of the Venetian Lagoon
Sponsor: Ian Straughn - Evelyn documented a declining population of small wooden boats in Venice. In collaboration with Jonathan Taggart of Taggart Objects Conservation and professor Fabio Carrera of Worcester Polytechnic Institute, she used architectural modeling programs to generate construction plans for a collection of traditional working boats in the hopes that these boats might continue to be studied and reproduced in the future.
