Associate Dean of the College for Fellowships
Linda Dunleavy received her Ph.D. in English from the State University of New York at Buffalo. She has published articles and book reviews on the work of Cather, Dreiser, and Faulkner in Women’s Studies, Studies in American Fiction, and Dreiser Studies. She is the recipient of a post-doctoral fellowship in the Women’s Studies department at Northeastern University, where she also served on the graduate faculty in the Sociology and Anthropology department. In 1996, Dunleavy won a Fulbright Junior Lecturer award to Germany to teach in the American Studies Institute at the University of Leipzig. She has held faculty appointments in the English departments at Sweet Briar College and Assumption College.
In 2003, Dunleavy joined the Dean of the College Office as the coordinator of fellowship programs. An adjunct Assistant Professor in the American Civilization department, she has offered seminars on violence and social difference and on the fiction of Philip Roth.
