Office of International Programs

Working Abroad

Many countries require special work permits to obtain a job, and therefore do not allow visiting students to work for pay. The OIP discourages students from working while on a study abroad program.

Students who are interested in working abroad may consider this during the summer, and should contact the CareerLab for additional information.  Several Brown programs have built-in internship opportunities, which will be outlined on the programs page.

We have included several sites that would help you locate opportunities to work, intern or volunteer.
