Colin Blake is from Richmond, Virginia and graduated from Brown University in May 2015. During his Brown career, he invested his time in spaces where he could explore social justice issues and work towards making his institution a more inclusive place. He has worked as both a Minority Peer Counselor and a Black Heritage Series Programmer, two positions that have inspired him to work in communities that lack access and opportunity. Concentrating in Africana studies and reflecting on his own experience as an underserved student in the public school education system, he believes that education access is vital to creating equity and he hopes to be a part of that change. He is looking forward to his first-year serving at the Community College of Rhode Island, as he hopes help to create better opportunities for students attending 2-year educational institutions.
