Kevin Pajaro was born in Jamaica Queens, New York but raised in Providence, Rhode Island. He graduated from E-Cubed Academy High school and more recently, the University of Rhode Island with a B.A. in Communication Studies. Being a first-generation student, Kevin knew that taking advantage of educational opportunities would be vital to his development individually and academically. As a high school junior, he joined a local RI non-profit called College Visions: a college access program that helps students navigate the college application process and gain support from dedicated advisors. During his time at URI, Kevin was significantly involved on his campus. He served as a Resident Advisor, a teaching assistant for an education policy course, and conducted an honors research project that aimed to institutionalize a minor in cultural competence. Kevin understands that for disenfranchised communities, education is a gateway towards solving the structural inequities that plague this demographic. He hopes that with the College Advising Corps, that he can use his experiences and knowledge to help students realize their potential to succeed and thrive at institutions of higher learning.
