Sienna Zeilinger, a first-year Adviser from Cleveland, Ohio, fell in love with Rhode Island while studying English at Brown University and is honored to have the opportunity to give back to the state that has become her home. While spending two summers teaching middle school students in Cleveland through the Aspire Program, Sienna realized the transformative power of near-peer advising as a means to combat educational inequalities. Back at Brown, as a Writing Fellow and a freshman advisor, she was able to continue learning how best to encourage and assist students as they set and work toward their long-term goals. With the College Advising Corps, Sienna looks forward to engaging with the issue of college access on a local level, getting to know students not as statistics but as individuals, and supporting them as they develop their own voices and paths. She is proudly serving at Woonsocket High School.
