Students with registered disabilities may be entitled to certain accommodations, including extended time for exams. In such cases, students are required to present a letter from Brown's Student and Employee Accessibility Services (SEAS) office to the course instructor stating their right to a particular accommodation. Federal law requires that approved accommodations be granted. Teaching assistants are required to inform course instructors of any documented requests for accommodation. Faculty wishing to include a statement about disabilities may see sample language available on the SEAS website.
The SEAS office can help arrange proctors and spaces for exams if necessary. For more information, contact Cathie Axe, Director of Brown's Student and Employee Accessibility Services office, at 863-9588.
