Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) is a twelve-step fellowship attended by people who wish to stop drinking. Al-Anon is a twelve-step fellowship attended by people who are concerned about someone's drinking. Narcotics Anonymous (NA) is a twelve-step fellowship for people who wish to stop using drugs. Meetings are of two basic types—closed and open. Closed meetings are for affected individuals only. Open meetings are suitable for anybody interested in learning more about the twelve-step program of recovery.
