Bilal Lafta

Bilal is a junior studying Computer Science with a passion for community engagement and social justice. Graduating from an under-resourced urban public school in Boston, he is determined to provide opportunities and resources for others to combat education inequality. As a Bonner Community Fellow for Beat the Streets, Bilal inspires urban youth for success in school and life through the vehicle of co-educational wrestling. As an iProv Fellow, he assisted the Governor's Office of Innovation in expanding the most comprehensive Computer Science initiative, CS4RI, to provide public CS education to every classroom in the state. At the Student Advisory Committee, Bilal chairs the Student Learning & Advising Subcommittee, responsible for managing a large Support Fund to help student groups close funding gaps and access projects and opportunities.
