Ethan Morelion

Hello! My name is Ethan Morelion! I am a junior from a small rural West Texas town -- Big Spring, Texas. I am concentrating in Political Science. I have been involved in the SAC since September of 2017 where I served a year-term as chair of the Diversity and Inclusion Subcommittee. In that position, I worked on a myriad of projects to increase the inclusivity and diversity of the Swearer Center and its programs.

In addition to my position on the SAC, I am a Bonner Community Fellow. My Bonner site is Sexual Health Advocacy through Peer Education (SHAPE), a partner of Planned Parenthood of Southern New England (PPSNE)! Through SHAPE and PPSNE, I work on public policy and advocacy concerning fighting for and embracing reproductive rights and freedoms in Rhode Island.

Beyond Bonner, I have been honored as an Arthur Liman Public Interest Fellow, a fellowship offered by the Swearer Center and Yale Law School to encourage public interest law work for undergraduates. For the summer of 2018, I worked at the Mexican American Legal Defense and Education Fund in San Antonio, Texas. My work there consisted of work on immigrant rights, voting rights, and education reform.

My future aspirations are to become an attorney where I can fight and defend the civil rights of all people and make a difference in any community that I am a part of.
