Lauren Fung

Public Policy and Economics

Lauren is a rising junior studying Public Policy and Economics at Brown University. Born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, Lauren is interested in the fraught relationship between development and gentrification, and has particular interest in technology hubs, fair housing, anchor institutions, and intersectional inequality. Passionate about community-centered work, Lauren is the Community Engagement chair for UCS, works for the Housing Assistance Collaborative, and serves in the Swearer Student Advisory Committee. Outside of Swearer, Lauren is the Editor in Chief of Visions, a pan-Asian Brown/RISD literary and arts magazine, and enjoys eating dimsum, looking for antique furniture, and watching youtube commentary videos.
