Night Jean Muhingabo

Youth Coordinator, Refugee Dream Center

Night Jean Muhingabo is an undergraduate at Rhode Island College, where he studies Public Administration with a minor in Computer Information Systems and Data Science. Night is a refugees advocate, poet and activist. He is also a Global Peace Ambassador at the Global Peace Chain and the president of the Black Student Union Harambee at Rhode Island College. Night serves on the board for the Refugee Dream Center,  the Providence Public School, and the Swearer Center.

Night Jean hopes to bring peace around the world. As a refugee, he knows what violence and oppression is like, so he knows from personal experience the necessity of peace, community organizing, advocacy and equality. In 2018, Night Jean was selected by the Plan International USA as a Youth Advisory Board (TAB) Member. Plan gave him a platform to advocate for youth in his home state of RI and around the world. Night works with other YAB members to plan the Youth Leadership Academy, a week-long advocacy training program for high school students Yearly. He also works on the YAB Public Engagement Subcommittee.
