Public Policy, Education Studies (Undeclared)

Hi! I'm Whitney, a rising sophomore at Brown University potentially concentrating in Public Policy, with a focus on urban policy, and Education Studies but with the open curriculum, this is subject to change. I'm interested in social equity, AAPI issues, and storytelling and this has manifested in my academic interests. I am a Meiklejohn leader, a Nurturing Alignment Coordinator at the BCSC, and a Bonner Community Fellow, which means I spend 6-8 hours a week with my community partner site, United Way of Rhode Island, getting to know Providence better and working on community empowerment. When I'm not spending time with the Swearer Center or in classes, I am scrapbooking, cooking (slightly burnt) food, blogging, photographing things, exploring the astrological signs, or exploring the BCSC. A city girl at heart, I am an avid supporter of accessible and affordable public transportation and thusly have never learned how to drive.

I look forward to deepening my relationship with service learning and the Swearer Center as a SAC member.
