College Advising Corps

The College Advising Corps at Brown University works to increase the number of low-income, first-generation college and underrepresented high school and community college students who enter and complete higher education. To deliver on this mission, we place well-trained, recent college graduates to serve as full-time college advisers in 13 Rhode Island high schools and the Community College of Rhode Island. College advisers provide college application and financial aid guidance to students and their families, while fostering a culture of college attendance and higher education in Rhode Island’s underserved communities. Nationally, the College Advising Corps has 25 programs operating in 15 states with just under 600 college advisers serving more that 60,000 students each year.
