Dr. Jorge Alvarez High School

Neisa is a Rhode Island native and grew up in the city of Providence. In May 2015, she graduated from The University of Rhode Island with a bachelors in Human Sciences and Services. While at URI she also did Leadership Studies, Africana Studies and Human Development and Family studies. After graduating, she spent time volunteering with Inspiring Minds as an in-school tutor to 9th and 12th grade students at Dr. Jorge Alvarez High School while working part-time. During her time doing Leadership Studies at URI is when she realized the significance of creating a college-going culture as well as providing first generation students with the resources they need to be successful. Neisa believes that attending college is an opportunity that every student should have access to. Being a first generation college graduate student herself, she is enthusiastic to be able to provide students with the resources and support needed to be college bound. Neisa is excited to serve as College Adviser at her former high school, Dr. Jorge Alvarez High School.
