Khody Nokeo AY2018-19

Mount Pleasant High School

B.A. Public Relations and B.S. Textiles, Fashion Merchandising, and Design 2016, University of Rhode Island

As a Providence native, Khody has always found comfort in helping his community. He attended Providence Public Schools since grade school, was a College Crusade School, and graduated from the Talent Development Program at the University of Rhode Island in 2016. Graduating with a degree in Public Relations and a concentration in Africana Studies, he had hoped to obtain a career non-profit management; until he encountered the impact he could make serving communities like his own. He relocated to Los Angeles, CA, to serve his first year as an AmeriCorps Member with City Year in 2016. Because of that experience, and upon completion, Khody returned home to Providence, to continue serving communities in need, and is now a proud AmeriCorps Member serving in his third year as a College Adviser at Mount Pleasant High School, where he hopes to combat education inequality one college application at a time.
