- College Advising Corps
Marisa DeCollibus AY2017-19
Marisa is a true Rhode Islander having grown up in North Kingstown and just graduated from the University of Rhode Island with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Minor in Education. Not only does she love her small state but the communities it encompasses. She is passionate about students having the opportunity to discover what they love and the support they need to actualize their own potential. She believes the process of applying to college and other post-secondary avenues is just as much social and emotional as it is academic. Marisa has spent a majority of her undergraduate work on this including an internship with the Rhode Island Department of Education surveying social and emotional learning programs in RI, and a year-long honors project studying the efficacy of a social and emotional learning program offered in Rhode Island elementary schools. She feels this work will help her better serve the students of Rogers High School as they take on the great journey of envisioning their life after graduation.
As a product of the ocean state, this college adviser loves sailing and the sea. She regularly practices yoga and, when her schedule allows, can be found farming at a local flower farm. "
