Rafael Alvarez AY2019-20

B.A. Psychology and Health Studies with a concentration in Health Promotion and a minor in Thanatology 2019, University of Rhode Island

Rafael was born in the Dominican Republic and moved to Rhode Island at the age of 10. He graduated from the Talent Development Program at the University of Rhode Island in 2019. He graduated with a degree in Psychology and Health Studies with a concentration in Health Promotion, while also minoring in Thanatology. As a college student, Rafael was very active in his community. He founded the Alpha Phi Omega chapter at his university, as well as founding the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Council. He also worked at the Gender & Sexuality Center, where he helped educated and bring awareness of LGBTQIA+ issues to the community. Rafael is eager to start working with his students and push them to reach their full potential.
