Kara is originally from Winchendon, Massachusetts and graduated from Providence College (PC) in 2016. At PC she majored in Global Studies and minored in Public and Community Service. Throughout her life Kara has been committed to community service. Her studies and extracurricular involvement during her undergraduate career have allowed her to work with various Providence schools and organizations that include Juanita Sanchez Educational Complex, The International Charter School in Pawtucket, The Providence After School Alliance, and  the Environmental Justice League of Rhode Island. Throughout her community involvement, Kara has found the most joy in working with young people while serving as a mentor. Kara was a community liaison with the Feinstein Institute for Public Service and PC where she mentored both young people in the providence community and undergraduate students. She has also co-facilitated multiple courses on the PC campus and abroad in Cape Town, South Africa.  She believes in the power of education and is looking forward to increasing access to higher education this upcoming year in her first year as an adviser at Hope High School.
