Swearer Center Democracy Fellow 

Scott Warren is the founder of Generation Citizen, a nonprofit that inspires youth to participate in politics by providing action civics education. Warren founded Generation Citizen during his senior year at Brown, and, under his leadership, the organization has launched chapters in five states and has taught over 30,000 students to drive change through civic engagement. 

As Democracy Fellow, Scott will be working with the Center to examine the role higher education institutions can and should play in building and maintaining healthy democracies. He will work with Swearer Center staff and Brown faculty to create a range of activities including facilitated conversations and convenings, speakers and panel presentations, and trainings and programs for students interested in learning more about democracy in practice.
