Emily Wright

Assistant Director, Communications and Public Engagement

Hometown: Hyannis, Massachussets

B.S. Print and Multimedia Journalism, Emerson University
M.A. Sports Leadership, Northeastern University

Emily's responsibilities as the Assistant Director of Communications and Public Engagement span traditional and contemporary public relations, marketing and advising realms. She works with Swearer staff to showcase the Center's work beyond Brown and oversees student staffers who publicize the work of the Center, while managing social media channels and the Swearer Center website. She also oversees the Swearer Center Storytellers Fellowship, a year-long program that was developed in the fall of 2016.

A Cape Cod native, Emily went to college and grad school in Boston at Emerson and Northeastern, respectively. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Print and Multimedia Journalism and a Master in Sports Leadership, and returned to Emerson as an adjunct journalism lecturer in 2015. She developed a deep love for storytelling during her time at the Boston Globe and Boston.com, following internships with the Boston Celtics, Regan Communications and the Massachusetts State House. Emily's passions outside the Swearer Center are aplenty, but collecting vinyl records and cooking keep her the busiest.
